Reason for the Hope Within: 12- Heaven and Hell

Murray tries to explain the apparently conflicting doctrines of hell and divine justice and divine love. His approach seems to be an elaborate ad hoc or special pleading argument. In defending the doctrine, he’s really just defending its internal consistency, showing that there are possible scenarios where it is not self-contradictory, but this is hardly enough. We need actual evidence that heaven and hell exist. The Bible is not good enough- it sure can’t be presupposed. Murray just comes up with complicated stories that might be true, but for which he has no evidence, in scripture or otherwise. He uses these stories to try to deflate objections. If they are logical objections, his approach is okay, but the burden of proof is on him to show that his doctrines are true, not that they are (just) logically consistent.
